For architect Sarah Waller, designing, building and styling a modernist-inspired home for her family was a long-held dream come true.  The sleek combination of stark white and matte black is warmed with natural stone, timber and surrounded by lush greenery.

Sitting on 30 acres in the Sunshine Coast hinterland, this modern farmhouse is a nod to nature in its clever design and aesthetic. Home to artist Emma Nancarrow and her family, it’s earthy and warm yet utterly contemporary.

The intention was to create a “generational family home” in West End and all of the decisions made when redesigning this house were based on quality rather than value. The result is a highly crafted modern home hidden in a traditional street.
