Colour crush: Pantone’s Summer Fig

It’s official – orange is the new black.

If Pantone has something to say then, by golly, we listen! Our favourite colour-connoisseurs have some big news – they’ve announced that Orange is officially the ‘it’ colour for all things interior decorating and design. Their fave shade (and ours) is the bright hue, Summer Fig (17-1450 ).

Pantone describes the colour as “a lush and juicy orange shade whose slight brown undertone conveys an exotic touch. Suggestive of sweetness and vitality the persuasive and flavourful Summer Fig blazes with intensity.”

Design tip: Bring a little liveliness to your home with orange, but remember a little goes a long way – use the tone as a feature colour, mix with soft neutrals and texture, or combine it with lighter tones within the same colour family, such as Coral Reef or Peach Echo.
