The Shaun Lockyer Architect designed new home sits perched high on the hill enjoying northerly Brisbane City views and boasts large open floor plates that create a sequence of public and private areas and a number of internal courtyards.

Electronic Living was involved in every facet of the build, working in collaboration with Shaun Lockyer Architects and Thallon Mole Group, to bring their depth of technical knowledge and expertise to creating an automation system that would enhance, not impede, the home\’s incredible architectural style, with its rich and timeless palette of blonde stones, bleached timbers, and zinc cladding.

Electronic Living aims to remove the confusion from the myriad of various iOT (internet of Things) options available in today’s market, providing smart and innovative home automation systems that are tailored to their clients\’ lifestyle, and also easy to control.

In this home, it begins from arrival, with an intercom that rings the touch panels throughout the house, allowing the user to see who is at the door, answer (or not) and allows access to the guest if desired. Access control of pedestrian gate, vehicle gate and garage door is also via touch panels and mobile devices.

TVs can be controlled through AV control system via mobile devices, touch panel, and smart handheld remotes, while soundbars throughout the house function through distributed audio that allows the user to play their favourite playlist on Spotify (or any other music streaming app) through the high-fidelity speakers in the pool area, terrace, living, sitting, retreat, rumpus, gym, kitchen.

A state of the art security and CCTV system that can be viewed, monitored and controlled via touch panels throughout the home is also available on each of the family members smart devices, providing the ability to monitor their home at all times.

Family members are notified on their smart devices if a security breach was to occur, and the security monitoring company is also immediately advised.

All equipment has been hidden from view within a dedicated communications room which allows convenient access for future expandability and provides a mechanically ventilated thermostat-controlled environment helping prolong the life and reliability of the system.
