With four growing boys, this family tasked Brisbane interior design firm CG Design Studio to create a home where everyone had their space while maintaining cohesion of style with the character and surrounds of their stunning renovated Queenslander home in inner-city Coorparoo.
Spanning three levels, the interior of this renovated Queenslander home was reconfigured by CG Design Studio to work towards a more minimal yet high-impact interior design, without forsaking any level of luxury and comfort in keeping with the family’s life and style.

Taking their design cues from mid-century detailing, CG Design Studio has created a contemporary Queensland interior, one that highlights the home’s existing heritage style while also introducing a minimal palette and clean lines, particularly in the communal areas such as the kitchen and living room. Here, masterful structural forms were created with integrated storage, while a striking wall of Herringbone Carrara marble tiles makes a standout feature of the home, introducing pattern and texture into the space, as well as simple sophistication. The tiling pairs exquisitely with the Tasmanian Oak joinery and light wooden accents in furniture and functional pieces such as elegant floating shelves.
This level of bespoke detailing and high-impact materials by CG Design Studio create a contemporary interior in this charming family home renovation, giving a nod to the Queenslander home‘s heritage heart whilst tailoring to the modern needs of the family who live here.
